JUL 2024
We are celebrating our twentieth anniversary, which brings us to twenty uninterrupted years of cultural activity in the Canary Islands. A time that has allowed us to strengthen a unique and singular festival, deeply rooted in the territory, in the future of the island's population, and which has strengthened very deep ties with the social, cultural, business and artistic fabric of Vallehermoso and La Gomera.
In 2005, Cauprogss, S.L. undertook one of the most satisfying professional adventures of our career: the creation of the Festival Atlántico Sonoro. Of course, that beginning was driven by the illusion of developing a cultural and artistic project in Vallehermoso, an essential town in our life journey for being, precisely, the territory of our family origins.
However, we could not have imagined then that the Festival Atlántico Sonoro would become the flagship of our cultural enterprise and that, nineteen editions later, we could boast of maintaining one of the most stable and solid festivals on the cultural scene of the archipelago.
The latter is undoubtedly the most beautiful and exciting achievement of all these years because, as we know, the people of Vallehermoso look forward to a new edition every year. These ties have been forged on the basis of both personal and professional collaborations, as the Festival does not limit itself to developing its agenda in Vallehermoso, but draws on the services and professional resources of the town, so that the impact achieved is not only cultural and social, but also decidedly economic.
Once the Festival is consolidated, in each new edition, we have expanded the agenda to other parts of the Canary Islands, with the aim of making the uniqueness of Atlántico Sonoro known beyond La Gomera, but also to create a pole of attraction that transfers potential audiences from other areas and markets to the rural and decentralised reality of Vallehermoso.
As the years have passed, Atlántico Sonoro has set the characteristic lines of the Festival, which now makes it possible to speak of four fundamental axes: decentralization and rurality, identity (art and memory), diversity as cultural uniqueness and local and territorial development.
