The Encuentros en el M/A/L (Music, Culture and Literature) Festival will be in its first five years in 2024, entering a stage that aims, on the basis of the success of the five editions that have consolidated it, to renew these multidisciplinary proposals and open new ways of cultural penetration to local audiences, those from a wider regional scope, those coming from a national universe, and of course those from different countries that transcend national frontiers.

The visit to the Canary Islands, both exogenously, that is, by individuals not related to the archipelago, and endogenously, that is, within the limits of the autonomous community itself, cannot remain an empty proposal of content, a child in an assumption of its own values, related to the human right to cultural consumption. The present time is sweeping in with two dreaded weapons for the cultural environment. Globalisation and Artificial Intelligence. 

Equal access to cultural content continues to be a collective challenge in the context of the globalised world in which we find ourselves, and that is why, as in previous editions, this Festival incorporates as an added value the uniqueness of its proposal within the framework of festivals and cultural events, being unique in its kind in the Canary Islands and providing an innovative and original proposal that also attracts new customer segments and markets.

On the other hand, the close and human nature of the proposals, based on direct contact with the experiences proposed, means that these meetings break the barrier of automation and the stereotyped artificiality of the new intelligences. 

The Canary Islands destination must be the focus of attention on cultural proposals, because otherwise it will once again succumb to that cliché in which all interest in our archipelago was relegated to three or four common places: climate, gastronomy, folklore and (a single type of) architectural heritage. This is why the proposal of the VI Festival Encuentros en el M/A/L (Music, Culture and Literature) transcends these common places and is based on the promotion of creativity, the exchange of experiences and individual, community and socially valuable initiatives.

All in all, the offer of this planning is built as an important cultural-creative alternative, programmed in an extended calendar in which the consumption and experience of the client is not established en bloc but independently, thus reaching diverse audiences according to the dates of celebration of the proposals.
